All Souls Night
The song is “All Souls
Night” by Loreena McKennitt. I don’t own it or Nightwalker, just playing
with them for a bit!

All Souls Night
By: Delilah deSora

Bonfires
dot the rolling hillsides
Figures dance around and around
To drums that pulse out echoes of darkness
Moving to the pagan sound.

Cain stared down at the
violently struggling vampire underneath him. Violet hair whipped back
and forth as Shido hissed and snapped at him, trying to free his arms.
“Stop struggling!” Cain
hissed, giving the smaller man a sharp shake.
“Release me!” Shido
snarled, stilling long enough for green eyes to glare up at his captor.
The golden haired vampire
shook his head. “Do not try me tonight, Shido. You know that tonight
causes our blood to boil and your struggling stirs the animal within
me.”
He laughed at the faint
color that flushed across Shido’s nose. “I will not allow that breed to
kill another.”
Moonlight caught the
younger vampire’s eye and Cain bent his head to brush his face over the
violet strands as his blood flared within him. Shido gasped and tried to
pull away from him, struggling deliciously. A growl formed deep within
his throat and before he could stop himself the golden haired vampire
had closed his mouth possessively over his neck. His teeth did not break
the skin but Shido froze, the weight of his master’s mouth upon his neck
a great pressure that the beast within him recognized and melted at. The
vampire in him surged through, taking control.
“Please, Shido. Just for
tonight do not fight me. You know All Souls Night calls to me and
threatens my control.” Cain whispered, forcing himself to pull back.
The violet haired vampire
hissed; sharp fangs snapping at thin air as his back arched. Long
fingers clawed at the ground as Shido thrashed, a growl rumbling deep in
his chest. His pale skin shimmered in the moonlight as he practically
slithered across the ground, green eyes turned golden as he reveled in
the feeling of bare skin on grass.
When a hand touched his
shoulder he leaned into the touch, a soft growl escaping his lips as he
nipped affectionately at the pale arm. The other laughed softly and ran
long nails along his shoulder making the violet haired vampire purr.
“Shido.”
Reaching up Shido dragged
his golden haired master down to envelope him in a searing kiss. Cain
braced himself above his ravishing lover and gave himself
whole-heartedly into the embrace. Together the two vampires growled and
nipped at each other until Cain pulled back with a snarl and a bite that
sent his child sprawling on the ground beneath him.
He braced himself above the
fae creature, breathing deeply and trying to still the stirrings within
him. His child hissed in impatience, arching his back and baring his
long pale neck.
Cain growled as he fought
the sensations that rolled through him. “How you undo me, lovely.” He
breathed, dipping his head to lick along the bared neck.
Beneath him Shido gasped
and writhed in pleasure. Cain bit lightly at the pale skin, his lover
stilling as he settled his mouth over the throbbing vein. He could taste
the fires that surged through his mate’s blood, stripping the younger
vampire of his control and making him all animal instinct.
It was the same fire that
burned at him, threatening to take him over as well. Cain chuckled as
clawed hands ran along his back, urging him on to other things. Ignoring
their sharp bite he amused himself by licking at the white skin,
refamiliarizing himself with the taste of his obsession.
The faint cries of his mate
spoke to the animal within him and he closed his eyes, feeling the pull
of the moon and the magic of All Souls Night surging through him urging
him to claim his mate.

Somewhere in a hidden
memory
Images float before my eyes
Of fragrant nights of straw and of bonfires
And dancing till the next sunrise

How long had it been?
The thought flickered on
the edges of Shido’s mind as he writhed under the comforting weight of
his master. How many years had he spent this night alone? How many years
had he screamed as the fires surged through him, forcing him into
nothing but a howling animal that was all instinct and feeling?
The heavy weight of his
master’s mouth on his neck drove such thoughts from his mind as the
vampire within him recognized that’s its needs were subject to another.
Part of him was frightened at such submission but it was not the part of
him that was in control. Shido half remembered pleasure filled nights
but would the man he had denied for so long allow him the gratification
that All Souls Night promised?
He had known better than to
venture out on this night but Yayoi had been insistent and the fire in
his veins had clamored for a release, be it sexual or violent. To a
vampire both were very much the same. He should have known better,
especially with the knowledge that his master was about.
No, Shido mused as a hand
brushed over his bare stomach and set his skin tingling, his mate.
Every other night of the year he could deny it, deny the connection
between him and the golden haired vampire, but Cain’s mouth on his skin
wouldn’t let him deny it right now.
Hell, even his own body
wouldn't let him deny it this night.
Cain’s hand drifted lower
and he tossed back his head and screamed, releasing years of pent up
frustration into the otherwise silent night.

I can see the lights in the
distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night
Candles and lanterns are dancing, dancing
A waltz on All Souls Night.

Cain froze as his
mate’s voice echoed through the night. It stirred things deep within him
and he crouched back on his heels, so tense his body trembled. Shido
clawed at the grass as his scream turned primal, challenging. With a
snarl the violet haired vampire rose and fled. A few feet away he
paused, turning.Cain
recognized the age-old dance and lunged for his mate. Shido hissed at
him and fled. Silently he pursued his mate, each glimpse of pale back or
violet hair pulling him deeper into the madness of the fire in his
blood. He lagged behind; knowing he could easily have caught his mate
but letting the chase warm him, excite him. He knew that soon his mate
would tire of the chase and allow himself to be caught.
He would leave his wayward
childe that much pride.
An enraged snarl caught his
attention and he froze, trembling with adrenaline. A faint scent reached
him and he recognized the scent of another vampire. Rage colored his
vision and he leapt forward.
His mate lay underneath
another, snarling and tearing at white flesh. The other snapped at the
vampire beneath him, trying to find a way under the clawing hands.
Cain howled and both
vampires froze. The other stared at him for a moment before lunging
forward. With a roar both vampires tore at each other, fighting for
dominance over their prey.
Claws raked painfully
across his arms and he took a bite on the shoulder but Cain felt none of
it through the rage. All he felt was hate towards this other who dared
to challenge his possession. Who dared to take his mate. He could even
smell Shido faintly on the other’s skin. He wanted to tear it off of
him.
The fire of All Souls Night
made fools of them all and the other vampire kept fighting even when he
should have realized that he was the weaker. His strength fading as Cain
tore at his flesh he kept flinging himself against his opponent until
finally his body collapsed. Cain lunged for him and finally the other
fled, leaving a trail of blood in his wake.
Panting for breath Cain
allowed himself to drop to the ground. The sting of multiple cuts
crashed down on him and he hissed in pain, clutching at the bite on his
shoulder. His shirt hung in tatters and he tore it away from him,
finding the strips irritating against his too hot skin.
A tongue ran up his back
along one of the wounds and he arched in pain and pleasure as it probed
the wounds. Hands pushed his away from the bite and he relented,
groaning as a mouth closed hotly against the bite. The same hands
wrapped about his waist and he turned his head to rub his cheek against
the violet hair of his mate.

Figures of cornstalks bend
in the shadows
Held up tall as the flames leap high
The green knight holds the holly bush
To mark where the old year passes by

Shido shivered, his
entire body tense with excitement as he watched the two vampires fight.
He knew he should help his sire but the animal inside him wouldn’t let
him move. It wanted to know which was stronger. It whispered to him that
only the strongest should have him.
A sigh of relief escaped
him when the challenger fled, leaving his mate with the field. Cain
dropped to his knees, tearing what remained of his shirt from him. The
site of white skin streaked with blood undid him and Shido found himself
crawling towards the victor.
Cain’s blood was sweet on
his tongue as he tasted flesh and cleaned the wound. Rationally he knew
the marks wouldn’t infect but it felt right to tend his mate. He heard
the almost silent sigh as Cain’s back straightened.
Golden hair fell away from
his shoulder and Shido frowned as the bite on his mate’s shoulder was
revealed. A growl rumbled in his chest as he pushed the hand away from
the wound and closed his mouth over it. Wrapping his arms around his
mate’s waist he relaxed his weight against the broad back, sucking
lightly at the weeping mark to draw the tainted blood from it.
Cain rubbed his cheek
against his hair and Shido purred, pulling back far enough to lick the
bite closed. Lips touched his cheek and hands pushed him down. With a
sigh he allowed himself to be covered by his mate, making contented
sounds as Cain rubbed against him, marking him with his scent.
He caught a hand full of
golden hair and buried his face in it, reveling in the musky scent of
his mate. A pale face hovered over his for a moment and he surged up,
capturing his mate’s lips with his own. He whimpered as Cain’s tongue
touched his lips and then pushed past them to tease his fangs. The
feeling of his mate stroking the sensitive skin above his fangs had him
writhing in madness as his body begged for more attention.
Suddenly his mate was
pulling away from him. He snarled and tried to force Cain back against
him but the older vampire caught his hands, pinning them above his head.
He found himself drowning in golden eyes as his mate rose up, staring at
him silently.

Bonfires dot the rolling
hillsides
Figures dance around and around
to drums that pulse out echoes of darkness
Moving to the pagan sound.

Cain stared down at
the writhing vampire beneath him. Every movement, every sound, every
look threatened to break his control. He could barely hear himself think
over the howling of the beast within him. Each heartbeat sang the words
“mark him” through his body. Each rush of blood through his body only
served to heighten the fires raging within him. Every thought was of
claiming the wild creature beneath him.
He could tell from the
golden glare from his mate that Shido was in no better condition than
he. A pink tongue darted out to wet pale lips and he closed his eyes
tight against the sensations that rode through him at the unconscious
gesture.
“Do you want this?” He
whispered, unable to resist the urge to lick at his mate’s collarbone.
Shido half snarled and half
groaned, pulling lightly at his trapped wrists. “What kind of question
is that?” He snapped back in a voice gone breathy with desire.
Cain shuddered and licked
at the soft skin underneath the angled jaw. “A serious one.” He said,
forcing himself to stop what he was doing and stare at his mate. “Chose
now, Shido because I will not be able to stop if we continue. Give in to
me or go, but don’t make me wait any longer.”
A tremor ran through his
mate’s body and he watched as golden eyes faded slightly to green as
Shido tried to regain control of himself. “You would do that? Stop
this?” He asked, incredulousness evident in his voice.
Cain nodded, releasing the
trapped wrists and sitting up on his knees, still straddling the man
beneath him but no longer holding him down. “If that is what you want.”
Shido trembled silently for
a few moments before reaching up to trace one of the long claw marks
across his chest. “You would let me go? Even after all this?”
Cain snarled and snapped at
him. “No one touches you like I do!” Shido pulled back swiftly and Cain
closed his eyes, fighting to regain his composure. “Yes I will stop,” he
opened eyes still golden and angry, “but if you say no than both of us
remain alone through this night and beyond. I will allow no other to
touch you, Shido. You’re mine alone, even if you won’t allow me to claim
you.”
Shido sighed and fell back,
staring up at the stars above them. Reaching out he traced a slow line
along Cain’s thigh even as he declared his next words. “This means
nothing to me.”
Cain watched as Shido gave
up the fight, his back arching as animal instinct took him. With a sigh
he allowed his own desires to overwhelm him and he fell upon his mate.
He practically tore the
offending garments covering the violet haired vampire and sighed in
pleasure as his mate returned the favor. Clothed only in moonlight and
each other they began reclaiming their territory.
Cain hissed as his mate
kissed his way down his chest and nipped lightly at his nipples. Shido
worried them until they were painfully tight and Cain feared he could
take no more. Capturing his mate by the neck he dragged the angelic face
to his own and laid claim to the soft mouth.
Shido whimpered in need
when he cut his tongue against his fangs and allowed his blood to flow.
Cain groaned as his mate sucked greedily at his blood, the pale throat
working furiously under his hands. When he felt the flow of blood slow
he pulled away, staring down into wide golden eyes that swam with need.
He smiled gently and worked
the violet hair free of the cruel bindings, watching as it fanned out
behind his mate. Shido murmured in pleasure as he stroked long fingers
through it. “So beautiful.” He whispered, licking the shell of his
mate’s ear.
He hissed in surprise as
Shido lay back and tugged him down with him. Long legs wrapped about his
waist and his mate rubbed against him, forcing all through from his mind
as the vampire surged to the surface and demanded to be appeased.
He entered his mate
roughly, making the man beneath him snarl and draw sharp nails along his
back, drawing blood. An answering snarl escaped him as he snapped at the
pale neck. Shido was cool around his burning need and he drove himself
in as far as he could go, desperate to placate the fire in his blood.
His mate howled as he found
the correct position and he drove down relentlessly on the spot deep
inside the other man. He had nearly a century of claiming to make up for
and the vampire inside of him demanded payment for it to be taken from
his mate’s flesh.
Cain knew he was being too
forceful with the delicate creature but he couldn’t stop. Each thrust
was a brand, a call designed to tell everyone that the vampire writhing
beneath him was his mate and no other’s. Shido was his and he was
Shido’s, whether the other vampire wanted him or not.
His violet haired mate was
keening and clawing at him, frantic to be driven over the edge but he
cruelly held back, watching the play of desperation across the angelic
face. Reaching between them he gripped his mate’s cock, stroking it
roughly a few times before squeezing hard at the base.
Shido shrieked and bucked
against him. Small hands slipped from his shoulders and tried to
dislodge his hand but Cain refused to relent.
“Mine!” He snarled,
snapping at his mate.
Shido hissed at him,
showing the fire that Cain found both intriguing and infuriating at the
same time. He stroked the weeping member a few more times, grinning as
his mate flung his head back and bit at his knuckles. Releasing the cock
he gathered the bleeding hand in his own and sat back on his knees.
Gently he gathered up his mate, pulling him up onto his lap.
Shido groaned in pleasure
as he sank down, driving Cain’s cock deep within him. Cain licked at the
bleeding hand, holding his mate tightly against him as Shido writhed in
his lap, trying to recapture the lost rhythm. He pressed a kiss to
Shido’s palm and release the thin wrist to wrap his arms around the pale
form and thrust up into him.
Violet hair fell over his
arms, tickling his oversensitive skin as Shido’s held fell back, baring
his neck. The fire in his blood surged and before he could stop himself
Cain lunged forward, burying his fangs into the offering.
His mate arched against
him, tense as a bowstring as the orgasm ripped through him. An
impossible pressure took hold of his cock and Cain snarled, clenching
his teeth tightly and trapping his mate against him as he came, marking
his mate in two ways.
Slowly the fires died down
and his jaws relaxed, teeth slipping from the pale flesh. His mate’s
head had dropped to his shoulder and he stroked the soft hair as he
lapped at the bleeding mark he’d left on his lover’s neck.
Careful not to disturb the
panting vampire he laid Shido back against the grass, curling up around
him. Cool lips touched his chest and he smiled as lethargy settled
across him. Gently he gathered up the violet hair, draping it across
Shido’s slumbering form. After a moment’s pause he pressed a kiss to his
lover’s forehead.
“This may not mean anything
to you, my love,” he whispered against the cool skin, “but it means
everything to me.”
The night around him was
silent and the vampire contented himself to simply enjoy the feel of his
love against him before the moment was lost to him forever.

Standing on the bridge that
crosses
The river that goes out to the sea
The wind is full of a thousand voices
They pass by the bridge and me
